Bhabhi is back, back with the bang

It was before six months (read my 'protest') when some oldies politicians in government lost all their senses (as usual) and blocked Savitabhabhi.com in India.
But now when she is back again, From Ad-man Prahlad Kakkar to Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt lined up to give a grand welcome to Savitabhabhi.com.

So all those proxies that we installed on our system may take a rest now for some more time. Amen!

Truly Indian

I am not the only one who makes spelling/grammar mistakes. It also reminds me a funny dialog from Hindi movie 'One Two Three': "पापा का S है, कहीं भी लगाये!".

Bribe for Peace

Some of the lamest reasons to give someone the peace prize:
  • For Extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and co-operation between peoples (this so call ‘extraordinary efforts’ didn’t bring results)
  • For Capturing the world's attention
  • For Offering hope for a better future (nothing achieved)
  • For Having vision for world without nuclear weapons (nothing achieved)
  • To support what he is trying to achieve
But the person was humble enough to accept that he doesn’t deserve the prize and that the prize was a ‘call to action’… bribe for peace in a way

Mahatma Rocks

I took this picture on the street I live where usually Karnataka State flag is hoisted. The day of 15th August is different and Mahatma Gandhi takes center stage on that day, not matter where you are in India. (oh ya! froward link of this blog to that Chinese)

Indian Unity, a surprise for Chinese

A Chinese web site recently published an article detailing a road-map to divide India into parts. They wants to easily divide India based on regions as they cannot believe that vastly different regions, in culture and language and even food, came together to make the great Indian federation. Well, it's not their fault. Actually they haven't grew up in a society with mentality to come together based on few similarity ignoring all other differences. I am not angry at the think-tanks behind their article as sight beyond the wall is not a very common Chinese feature anyway :)

My other view about Dr Singh

‘Supporting’ someone or his views is a totally different thing and it may be ‘personal’ or it may have some attachment/faith in the person, or it may be matching of intensity of loyalty to common philosophy. But act of ‘opposing’ someone’s political view is always tricky. You are not being ‘political’ about your views unless you recognize the strength of the person whose view you are opposing.
For me, example is ready with Dr Manmohan Singh and his action against Pakistan. According to me Pakistan is not being treated as deserves to be treated. It’s not just 26/11, it’s a series of event and how comfortably they can consider us fools.
Recent joint statement with his Pakistani counterpart is just another showcasing event proving how ‘weak’ we act against someone whose intension is to harm us. Nobody but Dr Manmohan Singh as the Prime Minister India is responsible for the shameful thing that happened. But thinking on the other side, he is very consistence with his attitude. He can very well carry his ‘weakness’ and face the angry nation strongly. I may consider him a ‘weak leader’ but as a person he is man of strong willpower, self respect and one of the great politicians. Jawaharlal Nehru is the nearest person with whom I like to compare him and may be that is the biggest (and only) complement for a person setting on the PM chair.

I tried to…

You never forget some lines for your life. May be from movies, your drunken friend, during some training or anything else… you know what I am talking about.
In 2002, when I was pursuing my B Tech, we got a new prof named Sanjay Goel. He is very enthusiastic fellow and you can see him literally dancing on the stage while giving lecture. A bald guy with thick specs was behaving like a rock star; he wanted audience participation in everything. But this day was different when he someone with ‘professor’ attached with his name was asking us about the lab assignments. We had a separate tutor for labs, usually young and good looking ladies. I always liked them. Profs during that time didn’t ‘degrade’ them self to labs (which changed soon after his arrival in the collage). Anyways, it was one randomly picked poor fellow to give lab assignment’s status. He started giving status like “I am trying to…” and there he was abruptly stopped by the prof. Prof called him on the stage and shown a shiny pen that he used to carry. Prof said “Try to get this pen”. The boy came near to him and when he was about to pick the pen, prof spoke again, “I said just ‘try’ to get it... don’t get it” and boy stood still, knowing nothing about what to do. Prof took ‘teaching’ look at the whole class and told that poor fellow to sit. The lecture progress as it has to and prof finished what he targeted finished on that day.
I may not have learnt much from that incident, but whenever I speak or hear something like ‘I tried to…’ words, above incident flashes in front of me like it just happened now.

Election '09 over and out

LK lost. Sing got clear victory. Not what I wanted. But there are many positive result this time. Good for India! The country has just saved itself from being humiliated by 3rd, 4th etc fronts.

Weak Acceptability factor of PM candidates '09

Heading the Indian Prime Ministerial institution is one of most challenging post in the world. Hell lot of India politicians are great administrators but toughest to achieve one of those quality is "acceptance". One of the pioneer of such quality is Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Inspite of being leader of, so called, 'communal party' he managed to create an alliance - parallel to which never existed in the Indian political history. When we look for the same in present situation, none, Dr Manmohan Singh or L K Advani, possess such quality.
LK has put a great effort in a crash course look-a-like change of image but it is not showing the results. LK is simply "unproven" for such a position according to some and, as Dr Singh has already pointed out, there is nothing significant LK has done for India yet.
On the other hand, there are (convincing) arguments against Mr Singh suggesting he is incapable of taking his own decision. He is not perceived as serious leader even within his own party.

WTF

Ok.ok.. You caste your vote.. but to whom are you showing that finger?!?

Voted

Why Election in May?

There are less number of people coming out to vote in Gujarat this time as deadly heat wave has kept people in. Who do you think will stand in Q to vote in 45C with heat wave on? I really congratulate those (45%) who voted this time. But 45% is real bad number. I consider it failure of election. This is the time of a year when all schools in Gujarat (and most of India) give vacation to the students just because of unbearable heat. But when it comes to election, it has to be on time. Not after, not before...
I am not aware if there election commission has any right of flexibility in time for conducting election when present government is about to complete its term, but we must have rule which can allow election commission to take decision on conducting election +-2 month to avoid such situation.

First Footwear Thrower Charged

This is about news: http://ibnlive.in.com/news/serial-shoe-strike-on-slipper-flung-at-yeddyurappa/91284-3.html

When Karnataka CM was addressing pubic meeting, one more mental fellow emerged with his footwear, to have his name on news paper. This has happened to many gigantic leaders including Prime Minister, Home Minister and Leader of Opposition. But everyone tried to show their greatness by leaving them free, which intern encouraged more incidents.
But it was not Karnataka CM. It looks like he valued his post and dignity and the footwear shooter is rightly behind the bars. If all such people gets harsh punishment, I believe such incident will come down soon. Politicians need to make sure they don't play vote politics and allow police to punish such mental fellows.

At this moment, I would say, bravo CM, bravo!

On a Bungee Saturday

It was a black day, 11th April 2009. Me with other guys had plan to visit a bungee jumping event. We had to move at 9 o'clock but as usual, I woke up late (and so my friends). Some how we managed to leave for the event at around 10:20 AM and reached after around an hour (you know.. we had to cut Bangalore traffic). The place was much outside Bangalore, near Bannerghata National Park call "Paintball Arena". We registered for 2 events, bungee jumping and paintball. Even after advanced booking we had to make registration based on which our bungee would start at 4:00 PM (almost after 4 and 1/2 hour later). We were pissed off at first.

We played paint ball which was like actual war using harmless gun (balls with some kind of washable paint filled in). "Death Match" and "Capture Post" were two games that we played there. It was very exciting as I like to fight. I went hand-to-hand at one stage and my gun (empty) got damaged after which I was thrown out of the game. To kill rest of the time, until our turn to go bungee comes, we decided to go to nearby resort for swimming, food and other games.

It was hot and everyone was tired after two games. So we were quickly moving toward the pool but everyone suddenly stopped to see a bungee jump like they have never see such a thing. I looked up toward the jumping place, and as I guessed, there was a busty lady about to jump. The afternoon Sun was piercing our eyes but we were ready to bear that. Ready with our camera, we waited for about 2 minutes but the lady decided to test our patient. At last she decided to quit. Not in our favor - she didn't jump.

Some of my friends were cursing the lady as saying she didn't had the guts to jump. I looked down and saw only about 8x15 feet was covered with safety net (I don't think it was safe to fall on that as it was standing on very week poles). Jumpers were hanging outside the safety net during most of their time in air. I had doubt in my mind if I would be able to jump. Due to this reason, I took favor of the lady in our discussion. Anyways, we moved toward swimming pool. I was enjoying at the pool and not at all waiting for bungee jump.

At 4 O'clock when we should be back to bungee jumping place, I was playing Table Tennis. Everything was going well until One of our partners at paintball called us to say that a person was seriously injured in the reverse bungee jump and that the event was canceled. The safety net I was talking about was only for regular bungee jump, it seems reverse bungee jump didn't have a safety net. Hearing the news I was shocked at first, in next moment I was thanking god that it was not me and prayed for the life of the victim.

We were promised that the organizers were professional. And that they had international quality of safety measures and instruments (see this link). The facts were very shocking. As I already noted, safety net was only for namesake. There was no sign of ambulance anywhere during sport. Later in news I read that they did not even have first aid kit.

Then and there, one of my friend announce (in swearing tone) not to do bungee jump in India. As not in America, but in India, anything is possible.
Government authority said that the organizers didn't have NOC. But why did they keep mum when news paper like Times of India were advertizing for the event. Why didn't police tried to stop the event or check for the validity of the dangerous event. My friend was right when he told not jump in India. As we will not go behind the culprits. As we will be happy as far as we get our money back. As we will want to forget the horrible day.

Kiran Just Blogged

People write blogs for various reasons. I encourage people to write blogs as I believe it helps you think beyond your cubicle and reach out to the people you never knew directly. But got a very new perspective as a web user of being categorized into web leech or seeder when my friend Kiran blogged about that. When I started blogging, it was just zeal to get into web space – get a web citizenship. As I mentioned in one of my blog, http://yogeeblogee.blogspot.com/2008/10/have-your-heard-about-geeks.html, once we get emotionally attached to the web and computerz, we think about being more involved. Blog is the great way to do that.
Today, my utilitarian blog http://rajputyh.blogspot.com attracts fairly more users than number of clicks that I make on web, which makes me one of the seeder. And I am proud to proclaim that.
Do you?

जागेंगे जुरुर ये भाग तेरे

कोई जाने ना जूनून तेरा.
