Truly Indian

I am not the only one who makes spelling/grammar mistakes. It also reminds me a funny dialog from Hindi movie 'One Two Three': "पापा का S है, कहीं भी लगाये!".

Bribe for Peace

Some of the lamest reasons to give someone the peace prize:
  • For Extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and co-operation between peoples (this so call ‘extraordinary efforts’ didn’t bring results)
  • For Capturing the world's attention
  • For Offering hope for a better future (nothing achieved)
  • For Having vision for world without nuclear weapons (nothing achieved)
  • To support what he is trying to achieve
But the person was humble enough to accept that he doesn’t deserve the prize and that the prize was a ‘call to action’… bribe for peace in a way

Digital Cloud

A cloud reflection on an ITPB building (Bangalore). Looks like lot of clouds are computed here :)

Mahatma Rocks

I took this picture on the street I live where usually Karnataka State flag is hoisted. The day of 15th August is different and Mahatma Gandhi takes center stage on that day, not matter where you are in India. (oh ya! froward link of this blog to that Chinese)

Indian Unity, a surprise for Chinese

A Chinese web site recently published an article detailing a road-map to divide India into parts. They wants to easily divide India based on regions as they cannot believe that vastly different regions, in culture and language and even food, came together to make the great Indian federation. Well, it's not their fault. Actually they haven't grew up in a society with mentality to come together based on few similarity ignoring all other differences. I am not angry at the think-tanks behind their article as sight beyond the wall is not a very common Chinese feature anyway :)

My other view about Dr Singh

‘Supporting’ someone or his views is a totally different thing and it may be ‘personal’ or it may have some attachment/faith in the person, or it may be matching of intensity of loyalty to common philosophy. But act of ‘opposing’ someone’s political view is always tricky. You are not being ‘political’ about your views unless you recognize the strength of the person whose view you are opposing.
For me, example is ready with Dr Manmohan Singh and his action against Pakistan. According to me Pakistan is not being treated as deserves to be treated. It’s not just 26/11, it’s a series of event and how comfortably they can consider us fools.
Recent joint statement with his Pakistani counterpart is just another showcasing event proving how ‘weak’ we act against someone whose intension is to harm us. Nobody but Dr Manmohan Singh as the Prime Minister India is responsible for the shameful thing that happened. But thinking on the other side, he is very consistence with his attitude. He can very well carry his ‘weakness’ and face the angry nation strongly. I may consider him a ‘weak leader’ but as a person he is man of strong willpower, self respect and one of the great politicians. Jawaharlal Nehru is the nearest person with whom I like to compare him and may be that is the biggest (and only) complement for a person setting on the PM chair.

I tried to…

You never forget some lines for your life. May be from movies, your drunken friend, during some training or anything else… you know what I am talking about.
In 2002, when I was pursuing my B Tech, we got a new prof named Sanjay Goel. He is very enthusiastic fellow and you can see him literally dancing on the stage while giving lecture. A bald guy with thick specs was behaving like a rock star; he wanted audience participation in everything. But this day was different when he someone with ‘professor’ attached with his name was asking us about the lab assignments. We had a separate tutor for labs, usually young and good looking ladies. I always liked them. Profs during that time didn’t ‘degrade’ them self to labs (which changed soon after his arrival in the collage). Anyways, it was one randomly picked poor fellow to give lab assignment’s status. He started giving status like “I am trying to…” and there he was abruptly stopped by the prof. Prof called him on the stage and shown a shiny pen that he used to carry. Prof said “Try to get this pen”. The boy came near to him and when he was about to pick the pen, prof spoke again, “I said just ‘try’ to get it... don’t get it” and boy stood still, knowing nothing about what to do. Prof took ‘teaching’ look at the whole class and told that poor fellow to sit. The lecture progress as it has to and prof finished what he targeted finished on that day.
I may not have learnt much from that incident, but whenever I speak or hear something like ‘I tried to…’ words, above incident flashes in front of me like it just happened now.

!! protest !!

I was shocked to get a news that a porn site savitabhabhi.com (actually depicts only toons and not real girls) was banned by Govt of India. I am outrageous and extremely angry over this ridiculous step. I've seen the site in past and I've NOT noticed any offensive content which may need national govt attention. My sole question here is, how did the government get balls to do such a censorship on internet? What if it is a porn site? Am I dumb or psycho when I visit one of those? Are we going the China way? Does government consider us stupid enough at adult age who needs parental (worst, 'governmental') guidance (worst, ban)? I strongly oppose this! What do you say?

p.s. Indian visitors can still access this site by http://anonymouse.org proxy. It's free and doesn't need any software installation.
